Break - a - Thon | Karate Board Breaking
What is a Break-a-thon?
A Break-A-Thon is of our our exciting board breaking martial arts classes, where students and their family members can test their strength, skill, and confidence! Student who compete in our karate tournaments also take advantage of these classes to prepare for the next competition.
This fun-filled experience allows participants to showcase their techniques, break boards, and celebrate their progress in a supportive and energetic environment. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced martial artist, it's a great way to challenge yourself, cheer on others, and enjoy the spirit of martial arts together!

What Size Boards Should I break?
These are broad recommendations. The age, size and experience of the student should be taken into account, when it comes to board breaking:
- Little Ninjas who have never broken a board should start with 2 inch boards. More experienced Ninjas can break 4 inch boards
- 7 - 9 years of age should break 4 or 6 inch boards.
- 10 - 12 years of age should break boards 6-8 inch boards
- 13 - 15 years of age should break 8 inch boards
- 16 & up should break 10 inch boards
How Many Boards Should I Break?
For each event, we recommend a minimum of 10 boards for a novice. If the student has some experience, at least 20 boards are recommended; MORE if the student is stacking boards.
