This policy applies to memberships entered into or renewed on or after the Effective Date. Memberships entered into before the Effective Date remain subject to the cancellation terms agreed to at the time of enrollment, unless the member subsequently agrees to updated terms.

At PKSA Karate Royal Oak, we are committed to providing exceptional martial arts instruction and clear, straightforward membership terms. Please review our cancellation and refund policy carefully.

Monthly Memberships with Initial Rank Commitment

• This policy applies to all monthly memberships, including memberships started under promotional or discounted offers.
• New monthly memberships include an Initial Rank Commitment Period. Students are expected to remain actively enrolled through their first eligible rank promotion cycle following enrollment.
• Students typically become eligible for their first rank promotion approximately 3 to 4 months after their enrollment date, depending on attendance, participation, testing requirements, and individual progress. This timeframe is an estimate and does not guarantee promotion within a specific period.
• For purposes of this policy, the Initial Rank Commitment Period ends upon the student’s first eligible rank promotion cycle, whether or not the student elects to participate in or successfully completes the promotion.
• If a membership is canceled with an effective cancellation date before completion of the Initial Rank Commitment Period, a $125 Early Cancellation Fee will apply.
• The $125 Early Cancellation Fee is in addition to any membership payments properly due during the required cancellation notice period.
• After the student completes the Initial Rank Commitment Period, the $125 Early Cancellation Fee no longer applies, and the membership continues on a monthly basis until canceled.
• All cancellations or membership modifications must be submitted in writing at least 30 calendar days before the next scheduled membership payment date in order to stop that payment.
• If written cancellation notice is received fewer than 30 calendar days before the next scheduled payment date, that payment will remain due, and the membership will terminate at the end of the period covered by that payment.
• Written cancellation requests must be emailed to admin@pksaroyaloak.com.
• Simply discontinuing attendance does not constitute cancellation of a membership.
• The Early Cancellation Fee will not apply where cancellation without an early termination charge is required by applicable law.

Annual Memberships

• Annual memberships are non-refundable, except where otherwise required by law or expressly provided in the applicable membership agreement.
• Voluntary early cancellation of an annual membership will not result in a prorated refund unless otherwise stated in writing.

Refund Policy

• Membership fees may be refunded when a membership is canceled before the membership start date, subject to the terms of the applicable enrollment or promotional agreement.
• Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method, generally within 7 business days.
• Refund requests must be submitted in writing to admin@pksaroyaloak.com.
• Retail sales are final except for defective, incorrectly supplied, or other merchandise for which a refund or replacement is required by law.
• Exchanges may be permitted for incorrectly received merchandise provided the item is unworn, unused, and free from visible damage.
